Nikah between Uterine and Consanguine Brother and Sister Is Haram
Question
This manager, who was formerly a woman and also had a son — now this woman, having become a man, married, after which children were born; he also has a daughter. Would marriage be permissible between the son who was born when the manager was a woman and the daughter who was born after the manager, having become a man, married? Also, what kind of sibling relationship will there be between the earlier son and the later daughter — akhyafi (uterine) or something else?
Answer
A son or a daughter born of one and the same person — even though at the birth of each of them that person’s attribute was different — still, because they were born of one person, a marital relationship between them is not valid. Just as nikah with an ‘ayni (full) sister is haram, so too nikah with an ‘allati (consanguine) and an akhyafi (uterine) sister is haram.
