A Separate Eid Prayer in Each Neighbourhood

Question

The Muslims of three or four neighbourhoods at a time jointly built an Eidgah (open ground for the Eid prayer) each, in which the Eid prayer had been held year after year. The land of one Eidgah was the property of a resident of one particular neighbourhood, who performed special service for that Eidgah and managed it; he also appointed the imams. People of other neighbourhoods took part as well.

Answer

The division was made at the very outset, when the people of each neighbourhood, not wishing to agree on praying the Eid prayer together in one place, built separate Eidgahs, and an independent prayer began to be held in each Eidgah. Then a further division was added to this: the people of each Eidgah broke away and went to the large open field.
