Eid Prayer in a Mosque Without an Excuse

Question

Can the Eid prayer be performed in mosques other than the Eidgah (open ground for the Eid prayer) or not? Those who have an excuse (the ma‘dhurs) have their excuse — but may the others pray the Eid prayer in mosques or not? And if not, then those who… prayed the Eid prayer in a mosque — will their prayer be valid or not? Kindly write a detailed answer.

Answer

The sunna way is precisely that everyone goes to the Eidgah and performs the Eid prayer together in one place by common accord. However, those who performed the Eid prayer in a mosque without an excuse — their prayer too has been fulfilled.
