Collecting donations from worshippers during the khutba

Question

Almost all the worshippers who come to our mosque for Jumu'a are factory employees. They have little time, and each of them wishes to finish the Jumu'a prayer as quickly as possible and reach his duty, so that he is not marked absent [and] so that a delay of an hour or two does not cause loss to his job and salary. Therefore here the first adhan is given immediately after zawal, and the interval between the adhan and the khutba is no more than ten to fifteen minutes.

Answer

Fixing this time for collecting donations is not correct; it is a wrong method. They should be collected either before this or after the prayer is finished. It is written in Maraqi al-Falah that whatever is prohibited in the very state of prayer is also prohibited during the khutba.
