Holding multiple Friday prayers
Question
In this settlement there are two mosques. Previously the Friday prayer was held only in the main congregational mosque. Later, a certain scholar established Friday prayer in the second mosque for some reason. After his death, should the Friday prayer now be held again in only one mosque, or continue in both?
Answer
It is preferable that all Muslims gather and perform the Friday prayer together in one mosque. Without necessity it should not be held in two places. However, if there is a need, then holding Friday prayer in another mosque is permissible and there is no harm in it.
