One person leads the Jumu'a prayer and another delivers the khutba

Question

The Jumu'a khutba was delivered by another person; the imam arrived during the final khutba, and the imam himself led the prayer. Is the prayer valid or not?

Answer

The prayer will be valid. The better course, however, is that whoever delivers the khutba should also lead the prayer.
