Jumu'a, the Eid prayers and i'tikaf for prisoners
Question
We are Pakistani prisoners of war. We perform the prayer in congregation. The two Eids and Jumu'a are waived [for us] because of captivity. If we have to remain [here] until Ramadan, what is the position regarding fasting, tarawih and i'tikaf? We perform the congregational prayer with the adhan in a room.
Answer
Since you have the facility of adhan and congregation there, there is no obstacle. And the prohibition on others entering there is not in order to prevent [people] from the Jumu'a prayer, but for legal security. In such a situation, according to the texts of some books of fiqh, there is room to perform Jumu'a and the two Eids there.
