The Reward of Jumu‘a Prayed During Working Hours
Question
I am a government employee with an eight-hour duty. During this duty I have to go regularly for prayer; this causes no harm to my duty, the only difference being that I am absent from duty. Will I receive the reward of the Jumu‘a prayer or not?
Answer
When you perform the Jumu‘a prayer on time, you will certainly receive its reward, in sha’ Allah; and because of other shortcomings that a person may have, the reward of the prayer is not lost.
