Whether the rights of people (huquq al-‘ibad) fall away from martyrs

Question

Do the rights of people (huquq al-‘ibad) fall away from martyrs or not?

Answer

The rule is that the rights of people do not fall away from one’s responsibility without being fulfilled or without being forgiven by the holder of the right. However, it may be that Allah, Blessed and Exalted, being pleased, grants from His treasury and satisfies the holder of the right, and the person who owes the right is saved from punishment.
