Pouring out all the water in a house where a death has occurred, and payment for leading the funeral prayer

Question

In a house where a death occurs, all the water of that house is thrown out, and it is said that the angels wash a knife in that water. What is the truth of this? Kindly write. And what is [the ruling on] taking payment for leading the funeral prayer?

Answer

This is baseless and [merely] a rumour; the angels have nothing to do with a knife. Payment for the funeral prayer is not permissible: [ar]إن المفتى به ليس جواز الاستئجار على كل طاعة[/ar] “The position on which the fatwa is given is not the permissibility of hiring for every act of worship.”
