The funeral prayer and burial of a deceased whose body was cut into three pieces
Question
(1) Zayd had already been a drunkard. One day someone gave him plenty of alcohol to drink, put poison in it and finished him off; after that he cut him into three pieces: one up to the neck, the second up to the waist, the third the part with the feet. Then he made three bundles of him in such a way that water could have no effect on them, and, having thrown him into a well, made full arrangements so that he could never come up again.
Answer
Since his corpse was cut into three parts, the composite form of the body did not remain and the parts became separated, there is neither a funeral prayer over him, nor a sunna shroud for him, nor washing of the deceased; rather, he should be wrapped in that cloth and buried in the Muslim graveyard.
