How a Non-Muslim Becomes a Muslim
Question
A year and a half ago a strange radiance and light appeared to me. The matter is that I come from a non-Muslim household, but all my friends are Muslims. Living among them and seeing them perform the prayer at its time, a desire arose in me too: if only I were a Muslim, I would today worship Allah the Exalted in the same way.
Answer
A person does not become a Muslim by someone else “making” him one: he becomes a Muslim when he brings his beliefs into accord with the command of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ and drives false notions and beliefs out of his heart. Thereafter let him go on learning the religion little by little.
