A cash gift to the preacher after the sermon

Question

Question: According to an old custom, the people here give the preacher and the speaker something by way of a gift (hadiyya) in the form of rupees after the sermon. On inquiry it became known that they give not for the sermon but willingly; the preachers do not specify or fix anything on their part, nor have the people specified anything; rather, they give sometimes three, sometimes five and sometimes two rupees.

Answer

Your misgiving is sound; if, on account of this misgiving, you do not accept it, you will be rewarded.
