Punishment for setting off a firework charge at a wedding
Question
What do the scholars of religion say regarding this issue: a man named Munsarif had his son’s wedding. On the day of the wedding procession, while Munsarif was not at home — he had gone to a bazaar three or four miles away — his nephew (sister’s son), who lives in another village, set off a firework charge.
Answer
(1) If the matter is exactly so, then subjecting Munsarif to ta‘zir and punishing him is not at all correct according to the Shari‘a. (2) There is no right to expel someone from the biradari without an offence.
