Intention in Hajj Badal
Question
When performing Hajj badal on behalf of one's parents — in the intention of Hajj qiran in Arabic, in the intention of tawaf, and at the time of the sacrifice at the place in Mina — should the name of the mother or father be pronounced? Or should one only say: "I am making the intention on behalf of my honoured father" or "on behalf of my respected mother"?
Answer
Intention is, in essence (asalatan), made in the heart; whether he then says it with the tongue in Arabic or in Urdu, either way it is correct and sufficient.
