Performing Hajj on Borrowed Money
Question
A certain person is weighed down by a heavy burden of debts, but he has capital (property to such an extent that even after paying them off so much is left over) that the expenses of Hajj can be met from it, and that his family, whose guardian he is, can live comfortably in his absence; moreover, after returning from Hajj he will also be well-off. Is Hajj to the House of Allah fard upon such a person?
Answer
Since Allah the Pure has granted him such means and capacity, he should indeed perform Hajj and not delay. For his other needs he does take loans, and has already taken them, and for repayment he has everything that Allah has given. Do not delay Hajj.
