Using a loudspeaker
Question
Question: A man has invented a device by which, in very large gatherings, the voice (of a Qur’an reciter, a preacher, a speaker) — the voice of the respected reciter, the respected preacher or speaker — reaches all those present in the gathering without difficulty and quite clearly, and not a single individual in this large gathering remains deprived of the benefit of those who impart it.
Answer
Where only the conveying of the voice is intended, and there is in it only addressing those present, with no act of worship (‘ibada) besides that, the use of this device too is permissible there, since it is an aid to attaining the original purpose. When the original purpose is mubah, then its aid, against whose prohibition there is no proof, is also mubah.
