The ruling on one who stirs up strife and discord

Question

Question: A Muslim who has abandoned truth and justice and stirs up strife (fitna) and discord, while outwardly appearing pious and observant of the Shari‘a — what kind of person is he, and what is the ruling?

Answer

Because of stirring up strife and discord and acting against truth and justice, he is a sinner.
