Cutting green leaves and branches

Question

Question: What is the ruling on selling green trees, cutting them down and sawing planks from them, given that the leaves of a tree perform tasbih (glorification of Allah)?

Answer

Cutting such trees for a need, selling them and sawing planks by running a saw machine are all correct. Necessities are not withheld on account of the tasbih of green trees; otherwise feeding grass to animals would itself become forbidden, and eating vegetables would also come to an end. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself separated a green branch from a tree and made use of it.
