Doing good to a neighbour who is a thief or a robber

Question

If neighbours are thieves or robbers, should one do good to them or not, when these thieves and robbers often cause harm?

Answer

One should do good to them too. It is hoped that, moved by this kindness, they will take up righteous deeds.
