Severing relations with those who make ta‘ziyas (replicas of Imam Husayn’s tomb carried in Muharram processions)

Question

Should everyone sever relations with such people or not? Also: the religious scholars and Muslims here do not forbid these people — what is the ruling concerning them?

Answer

Taking part in these impermissible matters is certainly impermissible. If it would be beneficial, relations should be severed; or if, through mixing and associating with them, a bad influence would fall on others — in practice, morals and belief — then relations must certainly be severed.
