What to do if one’s father’s conduct is contrary to the Shariʿa
Question
Question: My father’s conduct is improper: he asked his daughter-in-law to commit fornication (zina), and he also drinks wine. How should I treat him?
Answer
Try to have him go to serve some pious elder who possesses a spiritual connection. If there is an opportunity, send him off with a Tablighi Jamaat that works in the correct way and also adheres to the principles (usul). And always keep praying to Allah, the Pure, for his good.
