How to please one’s mother after her death

Question

Our mother has passed away. When she was alive, after our marriage she began to be displeased with us; the reason was our wife. Before the marriage our mother was never displeased with us, and we always tried to keep her happy, but after the marriage she began to be displeased with us, and we could not remove her displeasure during her lifetime.

Answer

Convey as much reward (thawab) as possible to your late mother, in whatever way the opportunity arises: by reciting the Noble Qur’an, praying nafl prayers, giving sadaqa, fasting — in short, the reward of every good deed reaches. Also keep praying for her forgiveness always. In sha’ Allah, her soul will be pleased and your unworthiness will be made up for.
