How to reform a father who commits a sin

Question

Question: My respected father works as a farmer, and along with that he also lends money on interest, whereas taking and giving interest is a grave sin and haram. So my heart is very troubled by this. It occurs to me to tell my respected father how evil this is, but my father’s temper is so harsh that if I mention it even once, I fear for my life. Moreover, until now my expenses have also been coming from home.

Answer

Let him be warned through some pious elder or influential person, or let him be brought to a gathering where religious matters are discussed, or let him be sent, by some means, with the Tablighi Jamaat.
