Buying stolen goods

Question

What is the ruling on buying a stolen item — for example an animal, cloth, shoes, etc. — knowingly or unknowingly, and on using it?

Answer

Once it is known that this is a stolen item, buying it is not correct; ownership of it will not be established for him thereby.
