Where are amulets for removing the effect of venom after a snakebite and the like?
Question
Question: If a snake or some other venomous insect bites someone, a Muslim has to go to Hindus to have a mantra (incantation) recited. If there is any such mantra or supplication (duʿa) in our Islamic Shariʿa, please explain.
Answer
In Aʿmal-i Qurani (“Qur’anic Practices”), Shams al-Maʿarif and al-Durr al-Munazzam, supplications (duʿas) are transmitted for removing the venom that rises (in the body) from the bite of a snake and other venomous creatures.
