Subjugating a hamzad, the “unseen hand”, alchemy, etc.
Question
(a) Is it permissible to subjugate one’s own hamzad (a jinn double born together with a person) or someone else’s hamzad? And likewise, what is the ruling on accomplishing some good deed through them, or performing some service to Islam, or having them render personal service? Regarding the “unseen hand” (an occult practice of receiving money from an unseen source)
Answer
(a) What a hamzad is and what the method of subjugation is — until the method is known, no answer can be given. [ar]لا يجوز لأحد من المسلمين أخذ مال أحد بغير سبب شرعي[/ar] “It is not permissible for any Muslim to take anyone’s property without a lawful (shar‘i) cause” (Fatawa ‘Alamgiri, vol. 2, p. 778).
