Are all animals and birds halal?

Question: Please explain since when all the animals and birds that exist have been halal.

Answer

Not all animals and birds are halal; rather, some are halal and some are not. In the noble hadith some are named explicitly, and for others a general rule (qaʿida kulliyya) is stated from which the ruling is known.
