The parrot is halal

Question: Hazrat Mawlana Ashraf ʿAli Thanawi ﵀ calls the parrot halal; is the very parrot with the red beak meant by this? Explain, and be rewarded.

Answer

What is meant is simply the parrot found in these parts, which people also keep (as a pet), which has the ability to imitate voices, and which generally eats bread and fruit.
