Pig’s milk for making alchemy

Question

Question: A certain man wants to make alchemy, in which pig’s milk is used. May pig’s milk be used for the transformation of essence (qalb mahiyya) or not? And if he does not do it himself but has some Hindu do it for him, is it right to act in this way?

Answer

The pig is intrinsically impure (najis al-ʿayn). Deriving benefit from its milk is not permissible — neither oneself nor through an intermediary. Making alchemy is not wajib.
