The ruling on Hindus’ funeral feast invitations
Question
Question: When someone dies among the Hindus, twelve days after that a feast is held, at which all kinds of dishes are prepared, and all those who are invited take part and eat. The question is: how is it for Muslims to eat the shraddha (a Hindu memorial rite with a meal) at the Hindus’ — that is, the funeral feast? May one take part in this feast and eat or not?
Answer
This is not permitted at all; do not take part in it under any circumstances.
