Food of a Chamar or a Bhangi
Question
Question: Are the leftovers of every human being pure or impure? And is food cooked by the hand of a Chamar (of an Indian caste of leatherworkers, regarded as low) or a Bhangi (of the sweepers’ caste) permissible or impermissible?
Answer
The leftovers of every human being are pure, provided that no impurity has mixed with them. If a Chamar or a Bhangi cooked pure food in a pure vessel with pure hands, it is pure without any hesitation.
