Explanation of the Criterion of Truth

Question

Some people say that the Companions ﵃ are not the criterion of truth, nor is any prophet [such a criterion] except the Messenger of Allah ﷺ; hence the Messenger of Allah ﷺ alone is the criterion of truth. Kindly write a detailed answer to this!

Answer

Every single prophet conveyed the religion of Allah the Exalted correctly: he did not alter it in the least, neither subtracting nor adding; he concealed no commandment, added nothing of his own, changed no commandment, and attributed nothing false to Allah the Pure. All the prophets ﵈ are entirely the criterion of truth.
