The Status of Fatwas in the Eyes of Mawdudi

Question

Most respected Hazrat Mufti Mahmud Hasan, may your high merits be increased! [ar]السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ[/ar] “Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings!” Question: after the greeting of the Sunnah, I submit that a fatwa of yours, respected Sir, concerning the Jamaat-e-Islami — “Taqlid and the Jamaat-e-Islami”, printed by Maktaba Nizam (Colonelganj, Kanpur)

Answer

(1) With regard to the published writings of the senior ulama concerning the Jamaat-e-Islami, Mawdudi’s writing is as follows: “A gentleman has sent me the detailed fatwa of Mufti Sa‘id Ahmad, which has been printed under the title ‘Kashf-i Haqiqat’ (‘The Disclosure of the Truth’)
