Did Those Who Fell at Karbala Fight to Protect the Religion?

Were all the sacrifices made at Karbala by the young saplings of the garden of prophethood for the sake of lust for power, or for the protection of the religion?

Answer

Hazrat Husayn ﵁ went to Karbala from the Islamic point of view, not for the attainment of power. What view you hold regarding the event of Karbala, I do not know; whether this writing will be of help to you or not, I do not know either.
