Was Imam Husayn ﵁ an Oppressor? — Allah Forbid

Question

Can Imam Husayn ﵇ be called an oppressor (zalim)?

Answer

According to the Ahl al-Sunna wa-l-Jama‘a he was not an oppressor; his merits and virtues (manaqib and fada’il) are found in the noble hadith — he has been called the master of the youths of Paradise.
