Had Hazrat Husayn Not Been Martyred, Would Islam Have Been Wiped Out?

Question

Is it also correct that had Hazrat Husayn ﵁ not been martyred, Islam itself would have been wiped out? [That] Hazrat Husayn ﵁ gave life to Islam, so that he is, as it were, the foundation of tawhid — how far is this correct?

Answer

This too is wrong: that had he not been martyred, Islam itself would have been wiped out.
