If the session ends after the offer of sale and before acceptance

Question

A non-Muslim intended to sell land he owned to a Muslim. The buyer offered a price of eight hundred and fifty rupees for this land. Another Muslim was listening to this conversation; he said that he did not interfere in this matter at all. However, the non-Muslim owner told the buyer: “I will think it over and give you an answer.” No firm agreement on the sale had been reached when the session broke up. After that, the second Muslim bought the land from the non-Muslim owner for 960 rupees.

Answer

The owner did not sell the land to the one who offered a price of eight hundred and fifty rupees, nor did he promise, “I will sell it to you at this price”; rather he said, “I will think it over and answer,” and that session also came to an end.
