Selling self-grown bamboo without the owner’s permission
Question
Here a landowner has about a thousand bighas (a local unit of land area) of land, on which tea is cultivated. But bamboo trees and the like spring up on this land, and the estate’s watchmen and labourers sell them behind the owner’s back. Is buying and selling them correct or not? It is a widespread affliction in our region — will there be any relaxation or not?
Answer
Buying and selling by stealth without the owner’s permission is not correct; it does not come under the ruling of grass.
