Eating Earth from a Grave
Question
A certain religious scholar says that to lick a little earth from the grave of saints, or a little lime from a plastered (masonry) grave, is permissible, since there is benefit in it — just as Mawlana ‘Abd al-Haqq ﵀ wrote in his fatawa, citing Nisab al-Ihtisab, Khizanat al-Riwayat and Majma‘ al-Barakat, that eating lime with betel is beneficial, or wrote that eating a small quantity of earth in general is permissible without any dislike (karaha).
