Is Visiting the Shrine of Khwaja Ajmeri Necessary for Hajj?

Question

(1) In some places the common people believe that before visiting the Haramayn (the two Sacred Mosques) it is necessary to visit the shrine of Khwaja Ajmeri. It is also widely held that whoever attends the ‘urs (an annual festival at a saint’s tomb on his death anniversary) of Khwaja Ajmeri seven times receives a reward equal to one Hajj. To what extent is it correct to hold this? Keeping a Photo or Statue of the Spiritual Guide and Offering Nadhr to It (2)

Answer

Both of these are acts and beliefs of shirk (polytheism); with them it is difficult for one’s iman to remain intact.
