Laying Flowers on the Graves of the Companions
Question
The Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were martyred in great numbers, and [among them] were imams of the Sacred Law and of the spiritual path (tariqa). Are covers or flowers and the like laid on their tombs? And are the third day, the tenth day, the fortieth day and the like observed for them — the way it is done in India?
Answer
Whatever people do at the shrines of the pious men of religion in India — I am not aware that all this is done in other countries as well; the tombs of a great many Companions ﵃ and noble awliya’ are free of these things.
