Is There Ill Omen in a Woman, a House and a Horse?

In the hadiths it is stated: if there were ill omen, it would be in a woman, a house and a horse. How is that [to be understood]?

Answer

In “Fath al-Bari”, the commentary on Sahih al-Bukhari (vol. 6, p. 46), a very lengthy exposition of this hadith has been given; likewise Mulla ‘Ali al-Qari in “Mirqat”, the commentary on “Mishkat”, in Kitab al-Nikah, has set out many of its meanings.
