Having One’s Hair Cut on Tuesday and Wednesday

Question

A certain religious scholar says that one should not have one’s hair (in Urdu, حجامت) or nails cut on Tuesday and Wednesday, for the Illustrious Master ﷺ forbade having one’s hair cut on these days (Tuesday and Wednesday). He has given as his reference “Sirat Halabiyya” (سیرت حلبیہ), part (juz’) no. 17. What has the Prophet ﷺ actually said on this matter?

Answer

Have that religious scholar copy out for you the passage from “Sirat Halabiyya”, juz’ 17, and send it. Hazrat Mujaddid Alf Thani has written that in this Umma no day is inauspicious — inauspiciousness has been lifted. Note of the edition: in Arabic, hijama (حجامة) means cupping (letting blood), not cutting hair and nails.
