Did Guru Nanak Receive Any Book?

Question

What is the opinion regarding the sage Guru Nanak? Does he hold any rank from the standpoint of Islam or not? And did he also receive any book or not?

Answer

A book from God the Pure is given to a messenger. Guru Nanak lived at a time when the door of prophethood had already been closed; therefore the question of a book here is out of place. The Sikhs regard him as their leader (muqtada), and from his teachings they establish tawhid too, and they also relate some other things which Islam has taught.
