Which Prophets Came to India, and Who Commanded the Burning of the Dead?

Question

Since when did the custom of burning the dead begin among the Hindus? Did prophets come to this people and community in accordance with Allah’s command or not? Surely no prophet would have given the instruction to burn the dead?

Answer

The first prophet to come to India was Hazrat Adam ﵇; mention of this exists in “Subhat al-Marjan”. He did not command the burning of the dead; rather, his son was shown the method of burial, as is stated in the Holy Qur’an, juz 6, Surah al-Ma’ida. And that any prophet commanded burning — this too I have not seen in any book.
