Legislative and Non-Legislative Prophethood

Question

(1) Which prophet is called a “possessor of a Sacred Law” (sahib al-shari‘a)? What is its definition? (2) Who is called a non-legislative (ghayr tashri‘i) prophet? What is its definition?

Answer

(1) One whose Sacred Law is independent. (2) One whose Sacred Law is subordinate to that of another prophet.
