Knowledge of the Unseen Attributed to Hazrat Piran-e Pir

Question

To turn one’s face towards Hazrat Piran-e Pir (‘guide of guides’), Shah ‘Abd al-Qadir Jilani ﵀, fold one’s hands, walk a few steps towards the respected spiritual guide, and hold the belief that the respected guide is watching — what is the ruling concerning one who holds such a belief?

Answer

This belief is kufr and shirk. [ar]وَيَكْفُرُ بِقَوْلِهِ: أَرْوَاحُ الْمَشَايِخِ حَاضِرَةٌ تَعْلَمُ[/ar] “And he becomes a kafir by saying: ‘The souls of the shaykhs are present and know’” (“Majma‘ al-Anhur”).
