Seeking Help from Iblis, Nimrod and the Like
Question
A certain Bengali came to this village and began telling the village people: “Jinn are subservient to me, and if anyone has any difficulties, they can be removed by me.” Thus his hold became established not in one but in forty houses of this village, and he began employing such devices that through him even the marriages of one or two girls in the village took place.
Answer
Reciting a khatm in this manner and taking part in it is not permissible. And if the belief is that those who have been called upon come to give help, then this is shirk, and iman will not remain intact with it.
