Zinc in food comes as its salts: oxide, sulphate, chloride, carbonate, acetate, lactate, citrate, gluconate, glycinate and amino-acid forms. No animal raw material is named for the salts; in zinc electrowinning bone glue and gelatin are added to the electrolyte (species not named).

Basis of the ruling

Zinc for fortification comes as its salts: oxide, sulphate, chloride, gluconate, citrate, glycinate and others. Zinc itself is mineral, from ore and recycled material. In zinc electrolysis, bone glue and gelatin are added to the electrolyte, and the animal species is not named.
